01-21:13††† And also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he is thy seed.

 

01-21:23††† Now therefore swear unto me here by God that thou wilt not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my sonís son: but according to the kindness that I have done unto thee, thou shalt do unto me, and to the land wherein thou hast sojourned.

 

01-22:2†††† And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.

 

01-22:3†††† And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.

 

01-22:6†††† And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together.

 

01-22:7†††† And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?

 

01-22:8†††† And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.

 

01-22:9†††† And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.

 

01-22:10††† And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.

 

01-22:12††† And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.

 

01-22:13††† And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.

 

01-22:16††† And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son:

 

01-23:8†††† And he communed with them, saying, If it be your mind that I should bury my dead out of my sight; hear me, and intreat for me to Ephron the son of Zohar,

 

01-24:3†††† And I will make thee swear by the LORD, the God of heaven, and the God of the earth, that thou shalt not take a wife unto my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell:

01-24:5†††† And the servant said unto him, Peradventure the woman will not be willing to follow me unto this land: must I needs bring thy son again unto the land from whence thou camest?

01-24:8†††† And if the woman will not be willing to follow thee, then thou shalt be clear from this my oath: only bring not my son thither again.

 

01-24:15††† And it came to pass, before he had done speaking, that, behold, Rebekah came out, who was born to Bethuel, son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abrahamís brother, with her pitcher upon her shoulder.

01-27:21††† And Isaac said unto Jacob, Come near, I pray thee, that I may feel thee, my son, whether thou be my very son Esau or not.

 

01-27:24††† And he said, Art thou my very son Esau? And he said, I am.

 

01-27:26††† And his father Isaac said unto him, Come near now, and kiss me, my son.

 

01-27:27††† And he came near, and kissed him: and he smelled the smell of his raiment, and blessed him, and said, See, the smell of my son is as the smell of a field which the LORD hath blessed:

 

01-27:32††† And Isaac his father said unto him, Who art thou? And he said, I am thy son, thy firstborn Esau.

 

01-27:37††† And Isaac answered and said unto Esau, Behold, I have made him thy lord, and all his brethren have I given to him for servants; and with corn and wine have I sustained him: and what shall I do now unto thee, my son?

 

01-27:42††† And these words of Esau her elder son were told to Rebekah: and she sent and called Jacob her younger son, and said unto him, Behold, thy brother Esau, as touching thee, doth comfort himself, purposing to kill thee.

 

01-27:43††† Now therefore, my son, obey my voice; and arise, flee thou to Laban my brother to Haran;

01-29:12††† And Jacob told Rachel that he was her fatherís brother, and that he was Rebekahís son: and she ran and told her father.

 

01-29:13††† And it came to pass, when Laban heard the tidings of Jacob his sisterís son, that he ran to meet him, and embraced him, and kissed him, and brought him to his house. And he told Laban all these things.

 

01-29:32††† And Leah conceived, and bare a son, and she called his name Reuben: for she said, Surely the LORD hath looked upon my affliction; now therefore my husband will love me.

 

01-29:33††† And she conceived again, and bare a son; and said, Because the LORD hath heard that I was hated, he hath therefore given me this son also: and she called his name Simeon.

04-3:32†††† And Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest shall be chief over the chief of the Levites, and have the oversight of them that keep the charge of the sanctuary.

 

04-3:35†††† And the chief of the house of the father of the families of Merari was Zuriel the son of Abihail: these shall pitch on the side of the tabernacle northward.

 

04-4:16†††† And to the office of Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest pertaineth the oil for the light, and the sweet incense, and the daily meat offering, and the anointing oil, and the oversight of all the tabernacle, and of all that therein is, in the sanctuary, and in the vessels thereof.

04-36:1†††† And the chief fathers of the families of the children of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of the sons of Joseph, came near, and spake before Moses, and before the princes, the chief fathers of the children of Israel:

06-7:24†††† And Joshua, and all Israel with him, took Achan the son of Zerah, and the silver, and the garment, and the wedge of gold, and his sons, and his daughters, and his oxen, and his asses, and his sheep, and his tent, and all that he had: and they brought them unto the valley of Achor.

 

06-13:22††† Balaam also the son of Beor, the soothsayer, did the children of Israel slay with the sword among them that were slain by them.

 

06-13:31††† And half Gilead, and Ashtaroth, and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, were pertaining unto the children of Machir the son of Manasseh, even to the one half of the children of Machir by their families.

 

06-14:1†††† And these are the countries which the children of Israel inherited in the land of Canaan, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, distributed for inheritance to them.

 

06-14:6†††† Then the children of Judah came unto Joshua in Gilgal: and Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite said unto him, Thou knowest the thing that the LORD said unto Moses the man of God concerning me and thee in Kadeshbarnea.

 

06-14:13††† And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh Hebron for an inheritance.

 

06-14:14††† Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite unto this day, because that he wholly followed the LORD God of Israel.

 

06-15:6†††† And the border went up to Bethhogla, and passed along by the north of Betharabah; and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben:

 

06-15:8†††† And the border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom unto the south side of the Jebusite; the same is Jerusalem: and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lieth before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the end of the valley of the giants northward:

 

06-15:13††† And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a part among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua, even the city of Arba the father of Anak, which city is Hebron.

 

06-15:17††† And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife.

 

06-17:2†††† There was also a lot for the rest of the children of Manasseh by their families; for the children of Abiezer, and for the children of Helek, and for the children of Asriel, and for the children of Shechem, and for the children of Hepher, and for the children of Shemida: these were the male children of Manasseh the son of Joseph by their families.

 

06-17:3†††† But Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, had no sons, but daughters: and these are the names of his daughters, Mahlah, and Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.

 

06-17:4†††† And they came near before Eleazar the priest, and before Joshua the son of Nun, and before the princes, saying, The LORD commanded Moses to give us an inheritance among our brethren. Therefore according to the commandment of the LORD he gave them an inheritance among the brethren of their father.

 

06-18:16††† And the border came down to the end of the mountain that lieth before the valley of the son of Hinnom, and which is in the valley of the giants on the north, and descended to the valley of Hinnom, to the side of Jebusi on the south, and descended to Enrogel,

 

06-18:17††† And was drawn from the north, and went forth to Enshemesh, and went forth toward Geliloth, which is over against the going up of Adummim, and descended to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben,

 

06-19:49††† When they had made an end of dividing the land for inheritance by their coasts, the children of Israel gave an inheritance to Joshua the son of Nun among them:

 

06-19:51††† These are the inheritances, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, divided for an inheritance by lot in Shiloh before the LORD, at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. So they made an end of dividing the country.

 

06-21:1†††† Then came near the heads of the fathers of the Levites unto Eleazar the priest, and unto Joshua the son of Nun, and unto the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel;

 

06-21:12††† But the fields of the city, and the villages thereof, gave they to Caleb the son of Jephunneh for his possession.

 

06-22:13††† And the children of Israel sent unto the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the half tribe of Manasseh, into the land of Gilead, Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest,

 

06-22:20††† Did not Achan the son of Zerah commit a trespass in the accursed thing, and wrath fell on all the congregation of Israel? and that man perished not alone in his iniquity.

 

06-22:31††† And Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest said unto the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the children of Manasseh, This day we perceive that the LORD is among us, because ye have not committed this trespass against the LORD: now ye have delivered the children of Israel out of the hand of the LORD.

 

06-22:32††† And Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, and the princes, returned from the children of Reuben, and from the children of Gad, out of the land of Gilead, unto the land of Canaan, to the children of Israel, and brought them word again.

 

06-24:9†††† Then Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, arose and warred against Israel, and sent and called Balaam the son of Beor to curse you:

 

06-24:29††† And it came to pass after these things, that Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the LORD, died, being an hundred and ten years old.

 

06-24:33††† And Eleazar the son of Aaron died; and they buried him in a hill that pertained to Phinehas his son, which was given him in mount Ephraim.

07-3:15†††† But when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, the LORD raised them up a deliverer, Ehud the son of Gera, a Benjamite, a man lefthanded: and by him the children of Israel sent a present unto Eglon the king of Moab.

 

07-3:31†††† And after him was Shamgar the son of Anath, which slew of the Philistines six hundred men with an ox goad: and he also delivered Israel.

 

07-4:6††††† And she sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedeshnaphtali, and said unto him, Hath not the LORD God of Israel commanded, saying, Go and draw toward mount Tabor, and take with thee ten thousand men of the children of Naphtali and of the children of Zebulun?

07-11:25††† And now art thou any thing better than Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab? did he ever strive against Israel, or did he ever fight against them,

07-12:13††† And after him Abdon the son of Hillel, a Pirathonite, judged Israel.

 

07-12:15††† And Abdon the son of Hillel the Pirathonite died, and was buried in Pirathon in the land of Ephraim, in the mount of the Amalekites.

 

07-13:3†††† And the angel of the LORD appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son.

 

07-13:5†††† For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall come on his head: for the child shall be a Nazarite unto God from the womb: and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.

 

07-13:7†††† But he said unto me, Behold, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and now drink no wine nor strong drink, neither eat any unclean thing: for the child shall be a Nazarite to God from the womb to the day of his death.

 

07-13:24††† And the woman bare a son, and called his name Samson: and the child grew, and the LORD blessed him.

07-17:3†††† And when he had restored the eleven hundred shekels of silver to his mother, his mother said, I had wholly dedicated the silver unto the LORD from my hand for my son, to make a graven image and a molten image: now therefore I will restore it unto thee.

 

07-18:30††† And the children of Dan set up the graven image: and Jonathan, the son of Gershom, the son of Manasseh, he and his sons were priests to the tribe of Dan until the day of the captivity of the land.

 

07-19:5†††† And it came to pass on the fourth day, when they arose early in the morning, that he rose up to depart: and the damselís father said unto his son in law, Comfort thine heart with a morsel of bread, and afterward go your way.

 

07-20:28††† And Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, stood before it in those days,) saying, Shall I yet again go out to battle against the children of Benjamin my brother, or shall I cease? And the LORD said, Go up; for to morrow I will deliver them into thine hand.

09-1:23†††† And Elkanah her husband said unto her, Do what seemeth thee good; tarry until thou have weaned him; only the LORD establish his word. So the woman abode, and gave her son suck until she weaned him.

 

09-3:6††††† And the LORD called yet again, Samuel. And Samuel arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And he answered, I called not, my son; lie down again.

 

09-3:16†††† Then Eli called Samuel, and said, Samuel, my son. And he answered, Here am I.

 

09-4:16†††† And the man said unto Eli, I am he that came out of the army, and I fled to day out of the army. And he said, What is there done, my son?

 

09-4:20†††† And about the time of her death the women that stood by her said unto her, Fear not; for thou hast borne a son. But she answered not, neither did she regard it.

 

09-7:1††††† And the men of Kirjathjearim came, and fetched up the ark of the LORD, and brought it into the house of Abinadab in the hill, and sanctified Eleazar his son to keep the ark of the LORD.

 

09-9:1††††† Now there was a man of Benjamin, whose name was Kish, the son of Abiel, the son of Zeror, the son of Bechorath, the son of Aphiah, a Benjamite, a mighty man of power.

 

09-9:2††††† And he had a son, whose name was Saul, a choice young man, and a goodly: and there was not among the children of Israel a goodlier person than he: from his shoulders and upward he was higher than any of the people.

 

09-9:3††††† And the asses of Kish Saulís father were lost. And Kish said to Saul his son, Take now one of the servants with thee, and arise, go seek the asses.

 

09-10:2†††† When thou art departed from me to day, then thou shalt find two men by Rachelís sepulchre in the border of Benjamin at Zelzah; and they will say unto thee, The asses which thou wentest to seek are found: and, lo, thy father hath left the care of the asses, and sorroweth for you, saying, What shall I do for my son?

 

09-10:11††† And it came to pass, when all that knew him beforetime saw that, behold, he prophesied among the prophets, then the people said one to another, What is this that is come unto the son of Kish? Is Saul also among the prophets?

 

09-10:21††† When he had caused the tribe of Benjamin to come near by their families, the family of Matri was taken, and Saul the son of Kish was taken: and when they sought him, he could not be found.

 

09-13:16††† And Saul, and Jonathan his son, and the people that were present with them, abode in Gibeah of Benjamin: but the Philistines encamped in Michmash.

 

09-13:22††† So it came to pass in the day of battle, that there was neither sword nor spear found in the hand of any of the people that were with Saul and Jonathan: but with Saul and with Jonathan his son was there found.

 

09-14:1†††† Now it came to pass upon a day, that Jonathan the son of Saul said unto the young man that bare his armour, Come, and let us go over to the Philistinesí garrison, that is on the other side. But he told not his father.

 

09-14:3†††† And Ahiah, the son of Ahitub, Ichabodís brother, the son of Phinehas, the son of Eli, the LORDíS priest in Shiloh, wearing an ephod. And the people knew not that Jonathan was gone.

 

09-14:39††† For, as the LORD liveth, which saveth Israel, though it be in Jonathan my son, he shall surely die. But there was not a man among all the people that answered him.

 

09-14:40††† Then said he unto all Israel, Be ye on one side, and I and Jonathan my son will be on the other side. And the people said unto Saul, Do what seemeth good unto thee.

 

09-14:42††† And Saul said, Cast lots between me and Jonathan my son. And Jonathan was taken.

 

09-14:50††† And the name of Saulís wife was Ahinoam, the daughter of Ahimaaz: and the name of the captain of his host was Abner, the son of Ner, Saulís uncle.

 

09-14:51††† And Kish was the father of Saul; and Ner the father of Abner was the son of Abiel.

 

09-16:18††† Then answered one of the servants, and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, that is cunning in playing, and a mighty valiant man, and a man of war, and prudent in matters, and a comely person, and the LORD is with him.

 

09-16:19††† Wherefore Saul sent messengers unto Jesse, and said, Send me David thy son, which is with the sheep.

 

09-16:20††† And Jesse took an ass laden with bread, and a bottle of wine, and a kid, and sent them by David his son unto Saul.

 

09-17:12††† Now David was the son of that Ephrathite of Bethlehemjudah, whose name was Jesse; and he had eight sons: and the man went among men for an old man in the days of Saul.

 

09-17:17††† And Jesse said unto David his son, Take now for thy brethren an ephah of this parched corn, and these ten loaves, and run to the camp to thy brethren;

 

09-17:55††† And when Saul saw David go forth against the Philistine, he said unto Abner, the captain of the host, Abner, whose son is this youth? And Abner said, As thy soul liveth, O king, I cannot tell.

09-17:58††† And Saul said to him, Whose son art thou, thou young man? And David answered, I am the son of thy servant Jesse the Bethlehemite.

 

09-18:18††† And David said unto Saul, Who am I? and what is my life, or my fatherís family in Israel, that I should be son in law to the king?

 

09-18:21††† And Saul said, I will give him her, that she may be a snare to him, and that the hand of the Philistines may be against him. Wherefore Saul said to David, Thou shalt this day be my son in law in the one of the twain.

 

09-18:22††† And Saul commanded his servants, saying, Commune with David secretly, and say, Behold, the king hath delight in thee, and all his servants love thee: now therefore be the kingís son in law.

 

09-18:23††† And Saulís servants spake those words in the ears of David. And David said, Seemeth it to you a light thing to be a kingís son in law, seeing that I am a poor man, and lightly esteemed?

 

09-18:26††† And when his servants told David these words, it pleased David well to be the kingís son in law: and the days were not expired.

 

09-18:27††† Wherefore David arose and went, he and his men, and slew of the Philistines two hundred men; and David brought their foreskins, and they gave them in full tale to the king, that he might be the kingís son in law. And Saul gave him Michal his daughter to wife.

 

09-19:1†††† And Saul spake to Jonathan his son, and to all his servants, that they should kill David.

 

09-19:2†††† But Jonathan Saulís son delighted much in David: and Jonathan told David, saying, Saul my father seeketh to kill thee: now therefore, I pray thee, take heed to thyself until the morning, and abide in a secret place, and hide thyself:

 

09-20:27††† And it came to pass on the morrow, which was the second day of the month, that Davidís place was empty: and Saul said unto Jonathan his son, Wherefore cometh not the son of Jesse to meat, neither yesterday, nor to day?

 

09-20:30††† Then Saulís anger was kindled against Jonathan, and he said unto him, Thou son of the perverse rebellious woman, do not I know that thou hast chosen the son of Jesse to thine own confusion, and unto the confusion of thy motherís nakedness?

 

09-20:31††† For as long as the son of Jesse liveth upon the ground, thou shalt not be established, nor thy kingdom. Wherefore now send and fetch him unto me, for he shall surely die.

 

09-22:7†††† Then Saul said unto his servants that stood about him, Hear now, ye Benjamites; will the son of Jesse give every one of you fields and vineyards, and make you all captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds;

 

09-22:8†††† That all of you have conspired against me, and there is none that sheweth me that my son hath made a league with the son of Jesse, and there is none of you that is sorry for me, or sheweth unto me that my son hath stirred up my servant against me, to lie in wait, as at this day?

 

09-22:9†††† Then answered Doeg the Edomite, which was set over the servants of Saul, and said, I saw the son of Jesse coming to Nob, to Ahimelech the son of Ahitub.

 

09-22:11††† Then the king sent to call Ahimelech the priest, the son of Ahitub, and all his fatherís house, the priests that were in Nob: and they came all of them to the king.

 

09-22:12††† And Saul said, Hear now, thou son of Ahitub. And he answered, Here I am, my lord.

 

09-22:13††† And Saul said unto him, Why have ye conspired against me, thou and the son of Jesse, in that thou hast given him bread, and a sword, and hast enquired of God for him, that he should rise against me, to lie in wait, as at this day?

 

09-22:14††† Then Ahimelech answered the king, and said, And who is so faithful among all thy servants as David, which is the kingís son in law, and goeth at thy bidding, and is honourable in thine house?

 

09-22:20††† And one of the sons of Ahimelech the son of Ahitub, named Abiathar, escaped, and fled after David.

 

09-23:6†††† And it came to pass, when Abiathar the son of Ahimelech fled to David to Keilah, that he came down with an ephod in his hand.

 

09-23:16††† And Jonathan Saulís son arose, and went to David into the wood, and strengthened his hand in God.

 

09-24:16††† And it came to pass, when David had made an end of speaking these words unto Saul, that Saul said, Is this thy voice, my son David? And Saul lifted up his voice, and wept.

 

09-25:8†††† Ask thy young men, and they will shew thee. Wherefore let the young men find favour in thine eyes: for we come in a good day: give, I pray thee, whatsoever cometh to thine hand unto thy servants, and to thy son David.

 

09-25:10††† And Nabal answered Davidís servants, and said, Who is David? and who is the son of Jesse? there be many servants now a days that break away every man from his master.

 

09-25:17††† Now therefore know and consider what thou wilt do; for evil is determined against our master, and against all his household: for he is such a son of Belial, that a man cannot speak to him.

 

09-25:44††† But Saul had given Michal his daughter, Davidís wife, to Phalti the son of Laish, which was of Gallim.

 

09-26:5†††† And David arose, and came to the place where Saul had pitched: and David beheld the place where Saul lay, and Abner the son of Ner, the captain of his host: and Saul lay in the trench, and the people pitched round about him.

 

09-26:6†††† Then answered David and said to Ahimelech the Hittite, and to Abishai the son of Zeruiah, brother to Joab, saying, Who will go down with me to Saul to the camp? And Abishai said, I will go down with thee.

 

09-26:14††† And David cried to the people, and to Abner the son of Ner, saying, Answerest thou not, Abner? Then Abner answered and said, Who art thou that criest to the king?

 

09-26:17††† And Saul knew Davidís voice, and said, Is this thy voice, my son David? And David said, It is my voice, my lord, O king.

 

09-26:21††† Then said Saul, I have sinned: return, my son David: for I will no more do thee harm, because my soul was precious in thine eyes this day: behold, I have played the fool, and have erred exceedingly.

 

09-26:25††† Then Saul said to David, Blessed be thou, my son David: thou shalt both do great things, and also shalt still prevail. So David went on his way, and Saul returned to his place.

 

09-27:2†††† And David arose, and he passed over with the six hundred men that were with him unto Achish, the son of Maoch, king of Gath.

 

09-30:7†††† And David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelechís son, I pray thee, bring me hither the ephod. And Abiathar brought thither the ephod to David.

10-1:4††††† And David said unto him, How went the matter? I pray thee, tell me. And he answered, That the people are fled from the battle, and many of the people also are fallen and dead; and Saul and Jonathan his son are dead also.

 

10-1:5††††† And David said unto the young man that told him, How knowest thou that Saul and Jonathan his son be dead?

10-1:17†††† And David lamented with this lamentation over Saul and over Jonathan his son:

 

10-2:8††††† But Abner the son of Ner, captain of Saulís host, took Ishbosheth the son of Saul, and brought him over to Mahanaim;

 

10-2:10†††† Ishbosheth Saulís son was forty years old when he began to reign over Israel, and reigned two years. But the house of Judah followed David.

 

10-2:12†††† And Abner the son of Ner, and the servants of Ishbosheth the son of Saul, went out from Mahanaim to Gibeon.

 

10-2:13†††† And Joab the son of Zeruiah, and the servants of David, went out, and met together by the pool of Gibeon: and they sat down, the one on the one side of the pool, and the other on the other side of the pool.

 

10-2:15†††† Then there arose and went over by number twelve of Benjamin, which pertained to Ishbosheth the son of Saul, and twelve of the servants of David.

 

10-3:3††††† And his second, Chileab, of Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite; and the third, Absalom the son of Maacah the daughter of Talmai king of Geshur;

 

10-3:4††††† And the fourth, Adonijah the son of Haggith; and the fifth, Shephatiah the son of Abital;

 

10-3:14†††† And David sent messengers to Ishbosheth Saulís son, saying, Deliver me my wife Michal, which I espoused to me for an hundred foreskins of the Philistines.

 

10-3:15†††† And Ishbosheth sent, and took her from her husband, even from Phaltiel the son of Laish.

 

10-3:23†††† When Joab and all the host that was with him were come, they told Joab, saying, Abner the son of Ner came to the king, and he hath sent him away, and he is gone in peace.

 

10-3:25†††† Thou knowest Abner the son of Ner, that he came to deceive thee, and to know thy going out and thy coming in, and to know all that thou doest.

 

10-3:28†††† And afterward when David heard it, he said, I and my kingdom are guiltless before the LORD for ever from the blood of Abner the son of Ner:

 

10-3:37†††† For all the people and all Israel understood that day that it was not of the king to slay Abner the son of Ner.

 

10-4:1††††† And when Saulís son heard that Abner was dead in Hebron, his hands were feeble, and all the Israelites were troubled.

 

10-4:2††††† And Saulís son had two men that were captains of bands: the name of the one was Baanah, and the name of the other Rechab, the sons of Rimmon a Beerothite, of the children of Benjamin: (for Beeroth also was reckoned to Benjamin.

 

10-4:4††††† And Jonathan, Saulís son, had a son that was lame of his feet. He was five years old when the tidings came of Saul and Jonathan out of Jezreel, and his nurse took him up, and fled: and it came to pass, as she made haste to flee, that he fell, and became lame. And his name was Mephibosheth.

 

10-4:8††††† And they brought the head of Ishbosheth unto David to Hebron, and said to the king, Behold the head of Ishbosheth the son of Saul thine enemy, which sought thy life; and the LORD hath avenged my lord the king this day of Saul, and of his seed.

 

10-7:14†††† I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men:

 

10-8:3††††† David smote also Hadadezer, the son of Rehob, king of Zobah, as he went to recover his border at the river Euphrates.

 

10-8:10†††† Then Toi sent Joram his son unto king David, to salute him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer, and smitten him: for Hadadezer had wars with Toi. And Joram brought with him vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of brass:

 

10-8:12†††† Of Syria, and of Moab, and of the children of Ammon, and of the Philistines, and of Amalek, and of the spoil of Hadadezer, son of Rehob, king of Zobah.

 

10-8:16†††† And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder;

 

10-8:17†††† And Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, were the priests; and Seraiah was the scribe;

 

10-8:18†††† And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over both the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and Davidís sons were chief rulers.

 

10-9:3††††† And the king said, Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may shew the kindness of God unto him? And Ziba said unto the king, Jonathan hath yet a son, which is lame on his feet.

 

10-9:4††††† And the king said unto him, Where is he? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he is in the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, in Lodebar.

 

10-9:5††††† Then king David sent, and fetched him out of the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, from Lodebar.

 

10-9:6††††† Now when Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, was come unto David, he fell on his face, and did reverence. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he answered, Behold thy servant!

 

10-9:9††††† Then the king called to Ziba, Saulís servant, and said unto him, I have given unto thy masterís son all that pertained to Saul and to all his house.

 

10-9:10†††† Thou therefore, and thy sons, and thy servants, shall till the land for him, and thou shalt bring in the fruits, that thy masterís son may have food to eat: but Mephibosheth thy masterís son shall eat bread alway at my table. Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.

 

10-9:12†††† And Mephibosheth had a young son, whose name was Micha. And all that dwelt in the house of Ziba were servants unto Mephibosheth.

 

10-10:1†††† And it came to pass after this, that the king of the children of Ammon died, and Hanun his son reigned in his stead.

 

10-10:2†††† Then said David, I will shew kindness unto Hanun the son of Nahash, as his father shewed kindness unto me. And David sent to comfort him by the hand of his servants for his father. And Davidís servants came into the land of the children of Ammon.

 

10-11:21††† Who smote Abimelech the son of Jerubbesheth? did not a woman cast a piece of a millstone upon him from the wall, that he died in Thebez? why went ye nigh the wall? then say thou, Thy servant Uriah the Hittite is dead also.

 

10-11:27††† And when the mourning was past, David sent and fetched her to his house, and she became his wife, and bare him a son. But the thing that David had done displeased the LORD.

 

10-12:24††† And David comforted Bathsheba his wife, and went in unto her, and lay with her: and she bare a son, and he called his name Solomon: and the LORD loved him.

 

10-13:1†††† And it came to pass after this, that Absalom the son of David had a fair sister, whose name was Tamar; and Amnon the son of David loved her.

 

10-13:3†††† But Amnon had a friend, whose name was Jonadab, the son of Shimeah Davidís brother: and Jonadab was a very subtil man.

 

10-13:4†††† And he said unto him, Why art thou, being the kingís son, lean from day to day? wilt thou not tell me? And Amnon said unto him, I love Tamar, my brother Absalomís sister.

 

10-13:25††† And the king said to Absalom, Nay, my son, let us not all now go, lest we be chargeable unto thee. And he pressed him: howbeit he would not go, but blessed him.

 

10-13:32††† And Jonadab, the son of Shimeah Davidís brother, answered and said, Let not my lord suppose that they have slain all the young men the kingís sons; for Amnon only is dead: for by the appointment of Absalom this hath been determined from the day that he forced his sister Tamar.

 

10-13:37††† But Absalom fled, and went to Talmai, the son of Ammihud, king of Geshur. And David mourned for his son every day.

 

10-14:1†††† Now Joab the son of Zeruiah perceived that the kingís heart was toward Absalom.

 

10-14:11††† Then said she, I pray thee, let the king remember the LORD thy God, that thou wouldest not suffer the revengers of blood to destroy any more, lest they destroy my son. And he said, As the LORD liveth, there shall not one hair of thy son fall to the earth.

 

10-14:16††† For the king will hear, to deliver his handmaid out of the hand of the man that would destroy me and my son together out of the inheritance of God.

 

10-15:27††† The king said also unto Zadok the priest, Art not thou a seer? return into the city in peace, and your two sons with you, Ahimaaz thy son, and Jonathan the son of Abiathar.

 

10-15:36††† Behold, they have there with them their two sons, Ahimaaz Zadokís son, and Jonathan Abiatharís son; and by them ye shall send unto me every thing that ye can hear.

 

10-16:3†††† And the king said, And where is thy masterís son? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he abideth at Jerusalem: for he said, To day shall the house of Israel restore me the kingdom of my father.

 

10-16:5†††† And when king David came to Bahurim, behold, thence came out a man of the family of the house of Saul, whose name was Shimei, the son of Gera: he came forth, and cursed still as he came.

 

10-16:8†††† The LORD hath returned upon thee all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose stead thou hast reigned; and the LORD hath delivered the kingdom into the hand of Absalom thy son: and, behold, thou art taken in thy mischief, because thou art a bloody man.

 

10-16:9†††† Then said Abishai the son of Zeruiah unto the king, Why should this dead dog curse my lord the king? let me go over, I pray thee, and take off his head.

 

10-16:11††† And David said to Abishai, and to all his servants, Behold, my son, which came forth of my bowels, seeketh my life: how much more now may this Benjamite do it? let him alone, and let him curse; for the LORD hath bidden him.

 

10-16:19††† And again, whom should I serve? should I not serve in the presence of his son? as I have served in thy fatherís presence, so will I be in thy presence.

 

10-17:25††† And Absalom made Amasa captain of the host instead of Joab: which Amasa was a manís son, whose name was Ithra an Israelite, that went in to Abigail the daughter of Nahash, sister to Zeruiah Joabís mother.

 

10-17:27††† And it came to pass, when David was come to Mahanaim, that Shobi the son of Nahash of Rabbah of the children of Ammon, and Machir the son of Ammiel of Lodebar, and Barzillai the Gileadite of Rogelim,

 

10-18:2†††† And David sent forth a third part of the people under the hand of Joab, and a third part under the hand of Abishai the son of Zeruiah, Joabís brother, and a third part under the hand of Ittai the Gittite. And the king said unto the people, I will surely go forth with you myself also.

 

10-18:12††† And the man said unto Joab, Though I should receive a thousand shekels of silver in mine hand, yet would I not put forth mine hand against the kingís son: for in our hearing the king charged thee and Abishai and Ittai, saying, Beware that none touch the young man Absalom.

 

10-18:18††† Now Absalom in his lifetime had taken and reared up for himself a pillar, which is in the kingís dale: for he said, I have no son to keep my name in remembrance: and he called the pillar after his own name: and it is called unto this day, Absalomís place.

 

10-18:19††† Then said Ahimaaz the son of Zadok, Let me now run, and bear the king tidings, how that the LORD hath avenged him of his enemies.

 

10-18:20††† And Joab said unto him, Thou shalt not bear tidings this day, but thou shalt bear tidings another day: but this day thou shalt bear no tidings, because the kingís son is dead.

 

10-18:22††† Then said Ahimaaz the son of Zadok yet again to Joab, But howsoever, let me, I pray thee, also run after Cushi. And Joab said, Wherefore wilt thou run, my son, seeing that thou hast no tidings ready?

 

10-18:27††† And the watchman said, Me thinketh the running of the foremost is like the running of Ahimaaz the son of Zadok. And the king said, He is a good man, and cometh with good tidings.

 

10-18:33††† And the king was much moved, and went up to the chamber over the gate, and wept: and as he went, thus he said, O my son Absalom, my son, my son Absalom! would God I had died for thee, O Absalom, my son, my son!

 

10-19:2†††† And the victory that day was turned into mourning unto all the people: for the people heard say that day how the king was grieved for his son.

 

10-19:4†††† But the king covered his face, and the king cried with a loud voice, O my son Absalom, O Absalom, my son, my son!

 

10-19:16††† And Shimei the son of Gera, a Benjamite, which was of Bahurim, hasted and came down with the men of Judah to meet king David.

 

10-19:18††† And there went over a ferry boat to carry over the kingís household, and to do what he thought good. And Shimei the son of Gera fell down before the king, as he was come over Jordan;

 

10-19:21††† But Abishai the son of Zeruiah answered and said, Shall not Shimei be put to death for this, because he cursed the LORDíS anointed?

 

10-19:24††† And Mephibosheth the son of Saul came down to meet the king, and had neither dressed his feet, nor trimmed his beard, nor washed his clothes, from the day the king departed until the day he came again in peace.

 

10-20:1†††† And there happened to be there a man of Belial, whose name was Sheba, the son of Bichri, a Benjamite: and he blew a trumpet, and said, We have no part in David, neither have we inheritance in the son of Jesse: every man to his tents, O Israel.

 

10-20:2†††† So every man of Israel went up from after David, and followed Sheba the son of Bichri: but the men of Judah clave unto their king, from Jordan even to Jerusalem.

 

10-20:6†††† And David said to Abishai, Now shall Sheba the son of Bichri do us more harm than did Absalom: take thou thy lordís servants, and pursue after him, lest he get him fenced cities, and escape us.

 

10-20:7†††† And there went out after him Joabís men, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, and all the mighty men: and they went out of Jerusalem, to pursue after Sheba the son of Bichri.

 

10-20:10††† But Amasa took no heed to the sword that was in Joabís hand: so he smote him therewith in the fifth rib, and shed out his bowels to the ground, and struck him not again; and he died. So Joab and Abishai his brother pursued after Sheba the son of Bichri.

 

10-20:13††† When he was removed out of the highway, all the people went on after Joab, to pursue after Sheba the son of Bichri.

 

10-20:21††† The matter is not so: but a man of mount Ephraim, Sheba the son of Bichri by name, hath lifted up his hand against the king, even against David: deliver him only, and I will depart from the city. And the woman said unto Joab, Behold, his head shall be thrown to thee over the wall.

 

10-20:22††† Then the woman went unto all the people in her wisdom. And they cut off the head of Sheba the son of Bichri, and cast it out to Joab. And he blew a trumpet, and they retired from the city, every man to his tent. And Joab returned to Jerusalem unto the king.

 

10-20:23††† Now Joab was over all the host of Israel: and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and over the Pelethites:

 

10-20:24††† And Adoram was over the tribute: and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder:

 

10-21:7†††† But the king spared Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan the son of Saul, because of the LORDíS oath that was between them, between David and Jonathan the son of Saul.

 

10-21:8†††† But the king took the two sons of Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, whom she bare unto Saul, Armoni and Mephibosheth; and the five sons of Michal the daughter of Saul, whom she brought up for Adriel the son of Barzillai the Meholathite:

 

10-21:12††† And David went and took the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son from the men of Jabeshgilead, which had stolen them from the street of Bethshan, where the Philistines had hanged them, when the Philistines had slain Saul in Gilboa:

 

10-21:13††† And he brought up from thence the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son; and they gathered the bones of them that were hanged.

 

10-21:14††† And the bones of Saul and Jonathan his son buried they in the country of Benjamin in Zelah, in the sepulchre of Kish his father: and they performed all that the king commanded. And after that God was intreated for the land.

 

10-21:17††† But Abishai the son of Zeruiah succoured him, and smote the Philistine, and killed him. Then the men of David sware unto him, saying, Thou shalt go no more out with us to battle, that thou quench not the light of Israel.

 

10-21:19††† And there was again a battle in Gob with the Philistines, where Elhanan the son of Jaareoregim, a Bethlehemite, slew the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaverís beam.

 

10-21:21††† And when he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimeah the brother of David slew him.

 

10-23:1†††† Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said,

 

10-23:9†††† And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodo the Ahohite, one of the three mighty men with David, when they defied the Philistines that were there gathered together to battle, and the men of Israel were gone away:

 

10-23:11††† And after him was Shammah the son of Agee the Hararite. And the Philistines were gathered together into a troop, where was a piece of ground full of lentiles: and the people fled from the Philistines.

 

10-23:18††† And Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was chief among three. And he lifted up his spear against three hundred, and slew them, and had the name among three.

 

10-23:20††† And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man, of Kabzeel, who had done many acts, he slew two lionlike men of Moab: he went down also and slew a lion in the midst of a pit in time of snow:

11-1 Kings

11-1:5††††† Then Adonijah the son of Haggith exalted himself, saying, I will be king: and he prepared him chariots and horsemen, and fifty men to run before him.

 

11-1:7††††† And he conferred with Joab the son of Zeruiah, and with Abiathar the priest: and they following Adonijah helped him.

 

11-1:8††††† But Zadok the priest, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and Nathan the prophet, and Shimei, and Rei, and the mighty men which belonged to David, were not with Adonijah.

 

11-1:11†††† Wherefore Nathan spake unto Bathsheba the mother of Solomon, saying, Hast thou not heard that Adonijah the son of Haggith doth reign, and David our lord knoweth it not?

 

11-1:12†††† Now therefore come, let me, I pray thee, give thee counsel, that thou mayest save thine own life, and the life of thy son Solomon.

 

11-1:13†††† Go and get thee in unto king David, and say unto him, Didst not thou, my lord, O king, swear unto thine handmaid, saying, Assuredly Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne? why then doth Adonijah reign?

 

11-1:17†††† And she said unto him, My lord, thou swarest by the LORD thy God unto thine handmaid, saying, Assuredly Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne.

 

11-1:21†††† Otherwise it shall come to pass, when my lord the king shall sleep with his fathers, that I and my son Solomon shall be counted offenders.

 

11-1:26†††† But me, even me thy servant, and Zadok the priest, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and thy servant Solomon, hath he not called.

 

11-1:30†††† Even as I sware unto thee by the LORD God of Israel, saying, Assuredly Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne in my stead; even so will I certainly do this day.

 

11-1:32†††† And king David said, Call me Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada. And they came before the king.

 

11-1:33†††† The king also said unto them, Take with you the servants of your lord, and cause Solomon my son to ride upon mine own mule, and bring him down to Gihon:

 

11-1:36†††† And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada answered the king, and said, Amen: the LORD God of my lord the king say so too.

 

11-1:38†††† So Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, went down, and caused Solomon to ride upon king Davidís mule, and brought him to Gihon.

 

11-1:42†††† And while he yet spake, behold, Jonathan the son of Abiathar the priest came: and Adonijah said unto him, Come in; for thou art a valiant man, and bringest good tidings.

 

11-1:44†††† And the king hath sent with him Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, and they have caused him to ride upon the kingís mule:

 

11-2:1††††† Now the days of David drew nigh that he should die; and he charged Solomon his son, saying,

 

11-2:5††††† Moreover thou knowest also what Joab the son of Zeruiah did to me, and what he did to the two captains of the hosts of Israel, unto Abner the son of Ner, and unto Amasa the son of Jether, whom he slew, and shed the blood of war in peace, and put the blood of war upon his girdle that was about his loins, and in his shoes that were on his feet.

 

11-2:8††††† And, behold, thou hast with thee Shimei the son of Gera, a Benjamite of Bahurim, which cursed me with a grievous curse in the day when I went to Mahanaim: but he came down to meet me at Jordan, and I sware to him by the LORD, saying, I will not put thee to death with the sword.

 

11-2:13†††† And Adonijah the son of Haggith came to Bathsheba the mother of Solomon. And she said, Comest thou peaceably? And he said, Peaceably.

 

11-2:22†††† And king Solomon answered and said unto his mother, And why dost thou ask Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah? ask for him the kingdom also; for he is mine elder brother; even for him, and for Abiathar the priest, and for Joab the son of Zeruiah.

 

11-2:25†††† And king Solomon sent by the hand of Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; and he fell upon him that he died.

 

11-2:29†††† And it was told king Solomon that Joab was fled unto the tabernacle of the LORD; and, behold, he is by the altar. Then Solomon sent Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, saying, Go, fall upon him.

 

11-2:32†††† And the LORD shall return his blood upon his own head, who fell upon two men more righteous and better than he, and slew them with the sword, my father David not knowing thereof, to wit, Abner the son of Ner, captain of the host of Israel, and Amasa the son of Jether, captain of the host of Judah.

 

11-2:34†††† So Benaiah the son of Jehoiada went up, and fell upon him, and slew him: and he was buried in his own house in the wilderness.

 

11-2:35†††† And the king put Benaiah the son of Jehoiada in his room over the host: and Zadok the priest did the king put in the room of Abiathar.

 

11-2:39†††† And it came to pass at the end of three years, that two of the servants of Shimei ran away unto Achish son of Maachah king of Gath. And they told Shimei, saying, Behold, thy servants be in Gath.

 

11-2:46†††† So the king commanded Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; which went out, and fell upon him, that he died. And the kingdom was established in the hand of Solomon.

 

11-3:6††††† And Solomon said, Thou hast shewed unto thy servant David my father great mercy, according as he walked before thee in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with thee; and thou hast kept for him this great kindness, that thou hast given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.

 

11-3:20†††† And she arose at midnight, and took my son from beside me, while thine handmaid slept, and laid it in her bosom, and laid her dead child in my bosom.

 

11-3:21†††† And when I rose in the morning to give my child suck, behold, it was dead: but when I had considered it in the morning, behold, it was not my son, which I did bear.

 

11-3:22†††† And the other woman said, Nay; but the living is my son, and the dead is thy son. And this said, No; but the dead is thy son, and the living is my son. Thus they spake before the king.

 

11-3:23†††† Then said the king, The one saith, This is my son that liveth, and thy son is the dead: and the other saith, Nay; but thy son is the dead, and my son is the living.

 

11-3:26†††† Then spake the woman whose the living child was unto the king, for her bowels yearned upon her son, and she said, O my lord, give her the living child, and in no wise slay it. But the other said, Let it be neither mine nor thine, but divide it.

 

11-4:2††††† And these were the princes which he had; Azariah the son of Zadok the priest,

 

11-4:3††††† Elihoreph and Ahiah, the sons of Shisha, scribes; Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud, the recorder.

 

11-4:4††††† And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the host: and Zadok and Abiathar were the priests:

 

11-4:5††††† And Azariah the son of Nathan was over the officers; and Zabud the son of Nathan was principal officer, and the kingís friend:

 

11-4:6††††† And Ahishar was over the household: and Adoniram the son of Abda was over the tribute.

 

11-4:8††††† And these are their names: The son of Hur, in mount Ephraim:

 

11-4:9††††† The son of Dekar, in Makaz, and in Shaalbim, and Bethshemesh, and Elonbethhanan:

 

11-4:10†††† The son of Hesed, in Aruboth; to him pertained Sochoh, and all the land of Hepher:

 

11-4:11†††† The son of Abinadab, in all the region of Dor; which had Taphath the daughter of Solomon to wife:

11-12:21††† And when Rehoboam was come to Jerusalem, he assembled all the house of Judah, with the tribe of Benjamin, an hundred and fourscore thousand chosen men, which were warriors, to fight against the house of Israel, to bring the kingdom again to Rehoboam the son of Solomon.

 

11-12:23††† Speak unto Rehoboam, the son of Solomon, king of Judah, and unto all the house of Judah and Benjamin, and to the remnant of the people, saying,

 

11-14:1†††† At that time Abijah the son of Jeroboam fell sick.

 

11-14:5†††† And the LORD said unto Ahijah, Behold, the wife of Jeroboam cometh to ask a thing of thee for her son; for he is sick: thus and thus shalt thou say unto her: for it shall be, when she cometh in, that she shall feign herself to be another woman.

 

11-14:20††† And the days which Jeroboam reigned were two and twenty years: and he slept with his fathers, and Nadab his son reigned in his stead.

 

11-14:21††† And Rehoboam the son of Solomon reigned in Judah. Rehoboam was forty and one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the LORD did choose out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there. And his motherís name was Naamah an Ammonitess.

 

11-14:31††† And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David. And his motherís name was Naamah an Ammonitess. And Abijam his son reigned in his stead.

 

11-15:1†††† Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam the son of Nebat reigned Abijam over Judah.

 

11-15:4†††† Nevertheless for Davidís sake did the LORD his God give him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem:

11-15:18††† Then Asa took all the silver and the gold that were left in the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the kingís house, and delivered them into the hand of his servants: and king Asa sent them to Benhadad, the son of Tabrimon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus, saying,

11-15:27††† And Baasha the son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him; and Baasha smote him at Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines; for Nadab and all Israel laid siege to Gibbethon.

 

11-15:33††† In the third year of Asa king of Judah began Baasha the son of Ahijah to reign over all Israel in Tirzah, twenty and four years.

 

11-16:1†††† Then the word of the LORD came to Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha, saying,

 

11-16:3†††† Behold, I will take away the posterity of Baasha, and the posterity of his house; and will make thy house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat.

 

11-16:6†††† So Baasha slept with his fathers, and was buried in Tirzah: and Elah his son reigned in his stead.

 

11-16:7†††† And also by the hand of the prophet Jehu the son of Hanani came the word of the LORD against Baasha, and against his house, even for all the evil that he did in the sight of the LORD, in provoking him to anger with the work of his hands, in being like the house of Jeroboam; and because he killed him.

 

11-16:8†††† In the twenty and sixth year of Asa king of Judah began Elah the son of Baasha to reign over Israel in Tirzah, two years.

 

11-16:13††† For all the sins of Baasha, and the sins of Elah his son, by which they sinned, and by which they made Israel to sin, in provoking the LORD God of Israel to anger with their vanities.

 

11-16:21††† Then were the people of Israel divided into two parts: half of the people followed Tibni the son of Ginath, to make him king; and half followed Omri.

 

11-16:22††† But the people that followed Omri prevailed against the people that followed Tibni the son of Ginath: so Tibni died, and Omri reigned.

 

11-16:26††† For he walked in all the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin, to provoke the LORD God of Israel to anger with their vanities.

 

11-16:28††† So Omri slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria: and Ahab his son reigned in his stead.

 

11-16:29††† And in the thirty and eighth year of Asa king of Judah began Ahab the son of Omri to reign over Israel: and Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty and two years.

 

11-16:30††† And Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the LORD above all that were before him.

 

11-16:31††† And it came to pass, as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took to wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Zidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshipped him.

 

11-16:34††† In his days did Hiel the Bethelite build Jericho: he laid the foundation thereof in Abiram his firstborn, and set up the gates thereof in his youngest son Segub, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Joshua the son of Nun.

 

11-17:12††† And she said, As the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.

 

11-17:13††† And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.

 

11-17:17††† And it came to pass after these things, that the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, fell sick; and his sickness was so sore, that there was no breath left in him.

 

11-17:18††† And she said unto Elijah, What have I to do with thee, O thou man of God? art thou come unto me to call my sin to remembrance, and to slay my son?

 

11-17:19††† And he said unto her, Give me thy son. And he took him out of her bosom, and carried him up into a loft, where he abode, and laid him upon his own bed.

 

11-17:20††† And he cried unto the LORD, and said, O LORD my God, hast thou also brought evil upon the widow with whom I sojourn, by slaying her son?

 

11-17:23††† And Elijah took the child, and brought him down out of the chamber into the house, and delivered him unto his mother: and Elijah said, See, thy son liveth.

 

11-19:16††† And Jehu the son of Nimshi shalt thou anoint to be king over Israel: and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abelmeholah shalt thou anoint to be prophet in thy room.

 

11-19:19††† So he departed thence, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth: and Elijah passed by him, and cast his mantle upon him.

 

11-21:22††† And will make thine house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah, for the provocation wherewith thou hast provoked me to anger, and made Israel to sin.

 

11-22:8†††† And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, Micaiah the son of Imlah, by whom we may enquire of the LORD: but I hate him; for he doth not prophesy good concerning me, but evil. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.

11-22:11††† And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made him horns of iron: and he said, Thus saith the LORD, With these shalt thou push the Syrians, until thou have consumed them.

 

11-22:24††† But Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah went near, and smote Micaiah on the cheek, and said, Which way went the spirit of the LORD from me to speak unto thee?

 

11-22:26††† And the king of Israel said, Take Micaiah, and carry him back unto Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the kingís son;

 

11-22:40††† So Ahab slept with his fathers; and Ahaziah his son reigned in his stead.

 

11-22:41††† And Jehoshaphat the son of Asa began to reign over Judah in the fourth year of Ahab king of Israel.

 

11-22:49††† Then said Ahaziah the son of Ahab unto Jehoshaphat, Let my servants go with thy servants in the ships. But Jehoshaphat would not.

12-1:17†††† So he died according to the word of the LORD which Elijah had spoken. And Jehoram reigned in his stead in the second year of Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah; because he had no son.

 

12-3:1††††† Now Jehoram the son of Ahab began to reign over Israel in Samaria the eighteenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and reigned twelve years.

 

12-3:3††††† Nevertheless he cleaved unto the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which made Israel to sin; he departed not therefrom.

 

12-3:11†††† But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD, that we may enquire of the LORD by him? And one of the king of Israelís servants answered and said, Here is Elisha the son of Shaphat, which poured water on the hands of Elijah.

 

12-3:27†††† Then he took his eldest son that should have reigned in his stead, and offered him for a burnt offering upon the wall. And there was great indignation against Israel: and they departed from him, and returned to their own land.

 

12-4:6††††† And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.

 

12-4:16†††† And he said, About this season, according to the time of life, thou shalt embrace a son. And she said, Nay, my lord, thou man of God, do not lie unto thine handmaid.

 

12-4:17†††† And the woman conceived, and bare a son at that season that Elisha had said unto her, according to the time of life.

 

12-4:28†††† Then she said, Did I desire a son of my lord? did I not say, Do not deceive me?

 

12-4:36†††† And he called Gehazi, and said, Call this Shunammite. So he called her. And when she was come in unto him, he said, Take up thy son.

 

12-4:37†††† Then she went in, and fell at his feet, and bowed herself to the ground, and took up her son, and went out.

 

12-6:28†††† And the king said unto her, What aileth thee? And she answered, This woman said unto me, Give thy son, that we may eat him to day, and we will eat my son to morrow.

 

12-6:29†††† So we boiled my son, and did eat him: and I said unto her on the next day, Give thy son, that we may eat him: and she hath hid her son.

 

12-6:31†††† Then he said, God do so and more also to me, if the head of Elisha the son of Shaphat shall stand on him this day.

 

12-6:32†††† But Elisha sat in his house, and the elders sat with him; and the king sent a man from before him: but ere the messenger came to him, he said to the elders, See ye how this son of a murderer hath sent to take away mine head? look, when the messenger cometh, shut the door, and hold him fast at the door: is not the sound of his masterís feet behind him?

 

12-8:1††††† Then spake Elisha unto the woman, whose son he had restored to life, saying, Arise, and go thou and thine household, and sojourn wheresoever thou canst sojourn: for the LORD hath called for a famine; and it shall also come upon the land seven years.

 

12-8:5††††† And it came to pass, as he was telling the king how he had restored a dead body to life, that, behold, the woman, whose son he had restored to life, cried to the king for her house and for her land. And Gehazi said, My lord, O king, this is the woman, and this is her son, whom Elisha restored to life.

 

12-8:9††††† So Hazael went to meet him, and took a present with him, even of every good thing of Damascus, forty camelsí burden, and came and stood before him, and said, Thy son Benhadad king of Syria hath sent me to thee, saying, Shall I recover of this disease?

 

12-8:16†††† And in the fifth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel, Jehoshaphat being then king of Judah, Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah began to reign.

 

12-8:24†††† And Joram slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David: and Ahaziah his son reigned in his stead.

 

12-8:25†††† In the twelfth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel did Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah begin to reign.

 

12-8:27†††† And he walked in the way of the house of Ahab, and did evil in the sight of the LORD, as did the house of Ahab: for he was the son in law of the house of Ahab.

 

12-8:28†††† And he went with Joram the son of Ahab to the war against Hazael king of Syria in Ramothgilead; and the Syrians wounded Joram.

 

12-8:29†††† And king Joram went back to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him at Ramah, when he fought against Hazael king of Syria. And Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to see Joram the son of Ahab in Jezreel, because he was sick.

 

12-9:2††††† And when thou comest thither, look out there Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi, and go in, and make him arise up from among his brethren, and carry him to an inner chamber;

 

12-9:9††††† And I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah:

 

12-9:14†††† So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. (Now Joram had kept Ramothgilead, he and all Israel, because of Hazael king of Syria.

 

12-9:20†††† And the watchman told, saying, He came even unto them, and cometh not again: and the driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi; for he driveth furiously.

 

12-9:29†††† And in the eleventh year of Joram the son of Ahab began Ahaziah to reign over Judah.

 

12-10:15††† And when he was departed thence, he lighted on Jehonadab the son of Rechab coming to meet him: and he saluted him, and said to him, Is thine heart right, as my heart is with thy heart? And Jehonadab answered, It is. If it be, give me thine hand. And he gave him his hand; and he took him up to him into the chariot.

 

12-10:23††† And Jehu went, and Jehonadab the son of Rechab, into the house of Baal, and said unto the worshippers of Baal, Search, and look that there be here with you none of the servants of the LORD, but the worshippers of Baal only.

 

12-10:29††† Howbeit from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin, Jehu departed not from after them, to wit, the golden calves that were in Bethel, and that were in Dan.

 

12-10:35††† And Jehu slept with his fathers: and they buried him in Samaria. And Jehoahaz his son reigned in his stead.

 

12-11:1†††† And when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the seed royal.

 

12-11:2†††† But Jehosheba, the daughter of king Joram, sister of Ahaziah, took Joash the son of Ahaziah, and stole him from among the kingís sons which were slain; and they hid him, even him and his nurse, in the bedchamber from Athaliah, so that he was not slain.

 

12-11:4†††† And the seventh year Jehoiada sent and fetched the rulers over hundreds, with the captains and the guard, and brought them to him into the house of the LORD, and made a covenant with them, and took an oath of them in the house of the LORD, and shewed them the kingís son.

 

12-11:12††† And he brought forth the kingís son, and put the crown upon him, and gave him the testimony; and they made him king, and anointed him; and they clapped their hands, and said, God save the king.

 

12-12:21††† For Jozachar the son of Shimeath, and Jehozabad the son of Shomer, his servants, smote him, and he died; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David: and Amaziah his son reigned in his stead.

 

12-13:1†††† In the three and twentieth year of Joash the son of Ahaziah king of Judah Jehoahaz the son of Jehu began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned seventeen years.

 

12-13:2†††† And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, and followed the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which made Israel to sin; he departed not therefrom.

 

12-13:3†††† And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and he delivered them into the hand of Hazael king of Syria, and into the hand of Benhadad the son of Hazael, all their days.

 

12-13:9†††† And Jehoahaz slept with his fathers; and they buried him in Samaria: and Joash his son reigned in his stead.

 

12-13:10††† In the thirty and seventh year of Joash king of Judah began Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned sixteen years.

 

12-13:11††† And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD; he departed not from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel sin: but he walked therein.

 

12-13:24††† So Hazael king of Syria died; and Benhadad his son reigned in his stead.

 

12-13:25††† And Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz took again out of the hand of Benhadad the son of Hazael the cities, which he had taken out of the hand of Jehoahaz his father by war. Three times did Joash beat him, and recovered the cities of Israel.

 

12-14:1†††† In the second year of Joash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel reigned Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah.

 

12-14:8†††† Then Amaziah sent messengers to Jehoash, the son of Jehoahaz son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying, Come, let us look one another in the face.

 

12-14:9†††† And Jehoash the king of Israel sent to Amaziah king of Judah, saying, The thistle that was in Lebanon sent to the cedar that was in Lebanon, saying, Give thy daughter to my son to wife: and there passed by a wild beast that was in Lebanon, and trode down the thistle.

 

12-14:13††† And Jehoash king of Israel took Amaziah king of Judah, the son of Jehoash the son of Ahaziah, at Bethshemesh, and came to Jerusalem, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem from the gate of Ephraim unto the corner gate, four hundred cubits.

 

12-14:16††† And Jehoash slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel; and Jeroboam his son reigned in his stead.

 

12-14:17††† And Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah lived after the death of Jehoash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel fifteen years.

 

12-14:23††† In the fifteenth year of Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel began to reign in Samaria, and reigned forty and one years.

 

12-14:24††† And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD: he departed not from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.

 

12-14:25††† He restored the coast of Israel from the entering of Hamath unto the sea of the plain, according to the word of the LORD God of Israel, which he spake by the hand of his servant Jonah, the son of Amittai, the prophet, which was of Gathhepher.

 

12-14:27††† And the LORD said not that he would blot out the name of Israel from under heaven: but he saved them by the hand of Jeroboam the son of Joash.

 

12-14:29††† And Jeroboam slept with his fathers, even with the kings of Israel; and Zachariah his son reigned in his stead.

 

12-15:1†††† In the twenty and seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel began Azariah son of Amaziah king of Judah to reign.

 

12-15:5†††† And the LORD smote the king, so that he was a leper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a several house. And Jotham the kingís son was over the house, judging the people of the land.

 

12-15:7†††† So Azariah slept with his fathers; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David: and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.

 

12-15:8†††† In the thirty and eighth year of Azariah king of Judah did Zachariah the son of Jeroboam reign over Israel in Samaria six months.

 

12-15:9†††† And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as his fathers had done: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.

 

12-15:10††† And Shallum the son of Jabesh conspired against him, and smote him before the people, and slew him, and reigned in his stead.

 

12-15:13††† Shallum the son of Jabesh began to reign in the nine and thirtieth year of Uzziah king of Judah; and he reigned a full month in Samaria.

 

12-15:14††† For Menahem the son of Gadi went up from Tirzah, and came to Samaria, and smote Shallum the son of Jabesh in Samaria, and slew him, and reigned in his stead.

 

12-15:17††† In the nine and thirtieth year of Azariah king of Judah began Menahem the son of Gadi to reign over Israel, and reigned ten years in Samaria.

 

12-15:18††† And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD: he departed not all his days from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.

 

12-15:22††† And Menahem slept with his fathers; and Pekahiah his son reigned in his stead.

 

12-15:23††† In the fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah Pekahiah the son of Menahem began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned two years.

 

12-15:24††† And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.

 

12-15:25††† But Pekah the son of Remaliah, a captain of his, conspired against him, and smote him in Samaria, in the palace of the kingís house, with Argob and Arieh, and with him fifty men of the Gileadites: and he killed him, and reigned in his room.

 

12-15:27††† In the two and fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah Pekah the son of Remaliah began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned twenty years.

 

12-15:28††† And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.

 

12-15:30††† And Hoshea the son of Elah made a conspiracy against Pekah the son of Remaliah, and smote him, and slew him, and reigned in his stead, in the twentieth year of Jotham the son of Uzziah.

 

12-15:32††† In the second year of Pekah the son of Remaliah king of Israel began Jotham the son of Uzziah king of Judah to reign.

 

12-15:37††† In those days the LORD began to send against Judah Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah.

12-16:1†††† In the seventeenth year of Pekah the son of Remaliah Ahaz the son of Jotham king of Judah began to reign.

 

12-16:3†††† But he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, yea, and made his son to pass through the fire, according to the abominations of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out from before the children of Israel.

 

12-16:5†††† Then Rezin king of Syria and Pekah son of Remaliah king of Israel came up to Jerusalem to war: and they besieged Ahaz, but could not overcome him.

 

12-16:7†††† So Ahaz sent messengers to Tiglathpileser king of Assyria, saying, I am thy servant and thy son: come up, and save me out of the hand of the king of Syria, and out of the hand of the king of Israel, which rise up against me.

 

12-16:20††† And Ahaz slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David: and Hezekiah his son reigned in his stead.

 

12-17:1†††† In the twelfth year of Ahaz king of Judah began Hoshea the son of Elah to reign in Samaria over Israel nine years.

 

12-17:21††† For he rent Israel from the house of David; and they made Jeroboam the son of Nebat king: and Jeroboam drave Israel from following the LORD, and made them sin a great sin.

 

12-18:1†††† Now it came to pass in the third year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, that Hezekiah the son of Ahaz king of Judah began to reign.

 

12-18:9†††† And it came to pass in the fourth year of king Hezekiah, which was the seventh year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, that Shalmaneser king of Assyria came up against Samaria, and besieged it.

 

12-18:18††† And when they had called to the king, there came out to them Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, which was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah the son of Asaph the recorder.

 

12-18:26††† Then said Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, and Shebna, and Joah, unto Rabshakeh, Speak, I pray thee, to thy servants in the Syrian language; for we understand it: and talk not with us in the Jewsí language in the ears of the people that are on the wall.

 

12-18:37††† Then came Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, which was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah the son of Asaph the recorder, to Hezekiah with their clothes rent, and told him the words of Rabshakeh.

 

12-19:2†††† And he sent Eliakim, which was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests, covered with sackcloth, to Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz.

 

12-19:20††† Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, That which thou hast prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria I have heard.

 

12-19:37††† And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons smote him with the sword: and they escaped into the land of Armenia. And Esarhaddon his son reigned in his stead.

 

12-20:1†††† In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live.

 

12-20:12††† At that time Berodachbaladan, the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present unto Hezekiah: for he had heard that Hezekiah had been sick.

 

12-20:21††† And Hezekiah slept with his fathers: and Manasseh his son reigned in his stead.

 

12-21:6†††† And he made his son pass through the fire, and observed times, and used enchantments, and dealt with familiar spirits and wizards: he wrought much wickedness in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.

12-21:24††† And the people of the land slew all them that had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his stead.

 

12-21:26††† And he was buried in his sepulchre in the garden of Uzza: and Josiah his son reigned in his stead.

 

12-22:3†††† And it came to pass in the eighteenth year of king Josiah, that the king sent Shaphan the son of Azaliah, the son of Meshullam, the scribe, to the house of the LORD, saying,

 

12-22:12††† And the king commanded Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Achbor the son of Michaiah, and Shaphan the scribe, and Asahiah a servant of the kingís, saying,

 

12-22:14††† So Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam, and Achbor, and Shaphan, and Asahiah, went unto Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe; (now she dwelt in Jerusalem in the college;) and they communed with her.

 

12-23:10††† And he defiled Topheth, which is in the valley of the children of Hinnom, that no man might make his son or his daughter to pass through the fire to Molech.

 

12-23:15††† Moreover the altar that was at Bethel, and the high place which Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin, had made, both that altar and the high place he brake down, and burned the high place, and stamped it small to powder, and burned the grove.

 

12-23:30††† And his servants carried him in a chariot dead from Megiddo, and brought him to Jerusalem, and buried him in his own sepulchre. And the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah, and anointed him, and made him king in his fatherís stead.

 

12-23:34††† And Pharaohnechoh made Eliakim the son of Josiah king in the room of Josiah his father, and turned his name to Jehoiakim, and took Jehoahaz away: and he came to Egypt, and died there.

 

12-24:6†††† So Jehoiakim slept with his fathers: and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead.

 

12-25:22††† And as for the people that remained in the land of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had left, even over them he made Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, ruler.

 

12-25:23††† And when all the captains of the armies, they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah governor, there came to Gedaliah to Mizpah, even Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan the son of Careah, and Seraiah the son of Tanhumeth the Netophathite, and Jaazaniah the son of a Maachathite, they and their men.

 

12-25:25††† But it came to pass in the seventh month, that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, the son of Elishama, of the seed royal, came, and ten men with him, and smote Gedaliah, that he died, and the Jews and the Chaldees that were with him at Mizpah.
