that we should serve him? is not he the son of Jerubbaal? and
Zebul his officer? serve the men of Hamor the father of Shechem: for why
should we serve him?
07-9:29†††† And would to God this people were under my hand! then
would I remove Abimelech.
And he said to Abimelech,
Increase thine army, and come out.
07-9:31†††† And he sent messengers unto Abimelech privily, saying, Behold, Gaal the son of Ebed
and his brethren be come to Shechem; and, behold, they fortify the city against
07-9:34†††† And Abimelech rose up, and all the people that were with
him, by night, and they laid wait against Shechem in four companies.
07-9:35†††† And Gaal the son of Ebed went out, and stood in the
entering of the gate of the city: and Abimelech rose up, and the people that were with
him, from lying in wait.
07-9:38†††† Then said Zebul unto him, Where is now thy
mouth, wherewith thou saidst, Who is Abimelech, that we should serve him? is not this
the people that thou hast despised? go out, I pray now, and fight with them.
07-9:39†††† And Gaal went out before the men of Shechem, and
fought with Abimelech.
07-9:40†††† And Abimelech chased him, and he fled before him, and many
were overthrown and wounded, even unto the entering of the gate.
07-9:41†††† And Abimelech dwelt at Arumah: and Zebul thrust out
Gaal and his brethren, that they should not dwell in Shechem.
07-9:42†††† And it came to pass on the morrow, that the people
went out into the field; and they told Abimelech.
07-9:44†††† And Abimelech, and the company that was with him,
rushed forward, and stood in the entering of the gate of the city: and
the two other companies ran upon all the people that were in
the fields, and slew them.
07-9:45†††† And Abimelech fought against the city all that day; and he
took the city, and slew the people that was therein, and beat down the
city, and sowed it with salt.
07-9:47†††† And it was told Abimelech, that all the men of the tower of Shechem
were gathered together.
07-9:48†††† And Abimelech gat him up to mount Zalmon, he and all the
people that were with him; and Abimelech took an ax in his hand, and cut down a bough
from the trees, and took it, and laid it on his shoulder, and said unto
the people that were with him, What ye have seen me do, make haste, and
do as I have done.
07-9:49†††† And all the people likewise cut down every man his
bough, and followed Abimelech,
and put them to the hold, and set the hold on fire upon them; so that
all the men of the tower of Shechem died also, about a thousand men and women.
07-9:50†††† Then went Abimelech to Thebez, and encamped against Thebez, and
07-9:52†††† And Abimelech came unto the tower, and fought against it,
and went hard unto the door of the tower to burn it with fire.
07-9:55†††† And when the men of Israel saw that Abimelech was dead, they departed
every man unto his place.
07-9:56†††† Thus God rendered the wickedness of Abimelech, which he did unto his
father, in slaying his seventy brethren:
07-10:1†††† And after Abimelech there arose to defend Israel Tola the son of
Puah the son of Dodo, a man of Issachar, and he dwelt in Shamir in mount
10-11:21††† Who smote Abimelech the son of Jerubbesheth? did not a woman cast
a piece of a millstone upon him from the wall, that he died in Thebez? why went
ye nigh the wall? then say thou, Thy servant Uriah the Hittite is dead also.
13-18:16††† And Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Abimelech the son of Abiathar, were
the priests; and Shavsha was scribe;
19-34:title†† A Psalm of
David, when he changed his behaviour before Abimelech; who drove him away, and he departed.
01-21:25††† And Abraham reproved Abimelech because of a well of water,
servants had violently taken away.
07-9:53†††† And a certain woman cast a piece of a millstone upon Abimelechís head, and all to brake
09-7:1††††† And the men of Kirjathjearim came, and fetched up the
ark of the LORD, and brought it into the house of Abinadab in the hill, and sanctified Eleazar his son to
keep the ark of the LORD.
09-16:8†††† Then Jesse called Abinadab, and made him pass before Samuel. And he said,
Neither hath the LORD chosen this.
09-17:13††† And the three eldest sons of Jesse went and followed
Saul to the battle: and the names of his three sons that went to the
battle were Eliab the firstborn, and next unto him Abinadab, and the third Shammah.
09-31:2†††† And the Philistines followed hard upon Saul and upon
his sons; and the Philistines slew Jonathan, and Abinadab, and Melchishua, Saulís sons.
10-6:3††††† And they set the ark of God upon a new cart, and
brought it out of the house of Abinadab that was in Gibeah: and Uzzah
and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab,
drave the new cart.
10-6:4††††† And they brought it out of the house of Abinadab which was at
Gibeah, accompanying the ark of God: and Ahio went before the ark.
11-4:11†††† The son of Abinadab, in all the region of Dor; which had Taphath
the daughter of Solomon to wife:
13-2:13†††† And Jesse begat his firstborn Eliab, and Abinadab the second, and Shimma the
13-8:33†††† And Ner begat Kish, and Kish begat Saul, and Saul
begat Jonathan, and Malchishua, and Abinadab, and Eshbaal.
13-9:39†††† And Ner begat Kish; and Kish begat Saul; and Saul
begat Jonathan, and Malchishua, and Abinadab, and Eshbaal.
13-10:2†††† And the Philistines followed hard after Saul, and
after his sons; and the Philistines slew Jonathan, and Abinadab, and Malchishua, the sons of Saul.
13-13:7†††† And they carried the ark of God in a new cart out of
the house of Abinadab:
and Uzza and Ahio drave the cart.
07-4:6††††† And she sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedeshnaphtali, and
said unto him, Hath not the LORD God of Israel commanded, saying, Go and
draw toward mount Tabor, and take with thee ten thousand men of the children of
Naphtali and of the children of Zebulun?
07-4:12†††† And they shewed Sisera that Barak the son of Abinoam was gone up to mount Tabor.
07-5:1††††† Then sang Deborah and Barak the son of Abinoam on that day, saying,
07-5:12†††† Awake, awake, Deborah: awake, awake, utter a
song: arise, Barak, and lead thy captivity captive, thou son of Abinoam.
04-16:1†††† Now Korah, the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the
son of Levi, and Dathan and Abiram, the
sons of Eliab, and On, the son of Peleth, sons of Reuben, took men:
04-16:12††† And Moses sent to call Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab:
which said, We will not come up:
04-16:24††† Speak unto the congregation, saying, Get you up from
about the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram.
04-16:25††† And Moses rose up and went unto Dathan and Abiram; and the elders of Israel
04-16:27††† So they gat up from the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan,
and Abiram, on
every side: and Dathan and Abiram came out, and stood in the door of their tents,
and their wives, and their sons, and their little children.
04-26:9†††† And the sons of Eliab; Nemuel, and Dathan, and Abiram. This is that Dathan
and Abiram, which
were famous in the congregation, who strove against Moses and against Aaron
in the company of Korah, when they strove against the LORD:
05-11:6†††† And what he did unto Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the son
of Reuben: how the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and
their households, and their tents, and all the substance that was in
their possession, in the midst of all Israel:
11-16:34††† In his days did Hiel the Bethelite build Jericho:
he laid the foundation thereof in Abiram his firstborn, and set up the gates thereof in
his youngest son Segub, according to the word of the LORD, which he
spake by Joshua the son of Nun.
19-106:17†† The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered
the company of Abiram.
11-1:3††††† So they sought for a fair damsel throughout all the
coasts of Israel, and found Abishag a
Shunammite, and brought her to the king.
11-1:15†††† And Bathsheba went in unto the king into the chamber:
and the king was very old; and Abishag the Shunammite ministered unto the king.
11-2:17†††† And he said, Speak, I pray thee, unto Solomon the
king, (for he will not say thee nay,) that he give me Abishag the Shunammite to wife.
11-2:21†††† And she said, Let Abishag the Shunammite be given to Adonijah thy brother
11-2:22†††† And king Solomon answered and said unto his mother,
And why dost thou ask Abishag the
Shunammite for Adonijah? ask for him the kingdom also; for he is mine
elder brother; even for him, and for Abiathar the priest, and for Joab the son
09-26:6†††† Then answered David and said to Ahimelech the Hittite,
and to Abishai the
son of Zeruiah, brother to Joab, saying, Who will go down with me to Saul to
the camp? And Abishai
said, I will go down with thee.
09-26:7†††† So David and Abishai came to the people by night: and,
behold, Saul lay sleeping within the trench, and his spear stuck in the ground
at his bolster: but Abner and the people lay round about him.
09-26:8†††† Then said Abishai to David, God hath delivered thine enemy into
thine hand this day: now therefore let me smite him, I pray thee, with
the spear even to the earth at once, and I will not smite him the second
09-26:9†††† And David said to Abishai, Destroy him not: for who can stretch
forth his hand against the LORDíS anointed, and be guiltless?
10-2:18†††† And there were three sons of Zeruiah there, Joab, and Abishai, and Asahel: and
Asahel was as light of foot as a wild roe.
10-2:24†††† Joab also and Abishai pursued after Abner: and the sun went
down when they were come to the hill of Ammah, that lieth before Giah by
the way of the wilderness of Gibeon.
10-3:30†††† So Joab and Abishai his brother slew Abner, because he had slain
their brother Asahel at Gibeon in the battle.
10-10:10††† And the rest of the people he delivered into the hand
of Abishai his brother, that he might
put them in array against the children of Ammon.
10-10:14††† And when the children of Ammon saw that the Syrians
were fled, then fled they also before Abishai, and entered into the city. So Joab returned
from the children of Ammon, and came to Jerusalem.
10-16:9†††† Then said Abishai the son of Zeruiah unto the king, Why should
this dead dog curse my lord the king? let me go over, I pray thee, and take off
10-16:11††† And David said to Abishai, and to all his servants, Behold, my son, which
came forth of my bowels, seeketh my life: how much more now may this Benjamite
do it? let him alone, and let him curse; for the LORD hath bidden him.
10-18:2†††† And David sent forth a third part of the people under
the hand of Joab, and a third part under the hand of Abishai the son of Zeruiah, Joabís brother, and a third
part under the hand of Ittai the Gittite. And the king said unto the people, I
will surely go forth with you myself also.
10-18:5†††† And the king commanded Joab and Abishai and Ittai, saying, Deal gently
for my sake with the young man, even with Absalom. And all the people
heard when the king gave all the captains charge concerning Absalom.
10-18:12††† And the man said unto Joab, Though I should receive a
thousand shekels of silver in mine hand, yet would I not put
forth mine hand against the kingís son: for in our hearing the king
charged thee and Abishai and
Ittai, saying, Beware that none touch the young man Absalom.
10-19:21††† But Abishai the son of Zeruiah answered and said, Shall not
Shimei be put to death for this, because he cursed the LORDíS anointed?
10-20:6†††† And David said to Abishai, Now shall Sheba the son of Bichri do us more
harm than did Absalom: take thou thy lordís servants, and pursue
after him, lest he get him fenced cities, and escape us.
10-20:10††† But Amasa took no heed to the sword that was in
Joabís hand: so he smote him therewith in the fifth rib, and shed
out his bowels to the ground, and struck him not again; and he died. So Joab
and Abishai his
brother pursued after Sheba the son of Bichri.
10-21:17††† But Abishai the son of Zeruiah succoured him, and smote the
Philistine, and killed him. Then the men of David sware unto him, saying, Thou
shalt go no more out with us to battle, that thou quench not the light of
10-23:18††† And Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was
chief among three. And he lifted up his spear against three hundred, and slew
them, and had the name among three.
13-2:16†††† Whose sisters were Zeruiah, and Abigail. And
the sons of Zeruiah; Abishai, and
Joab, and Asahel, three.
13-11:20††† And Abishai the brother of Joab, he was chief of the three:
for lifting up his spear against three hundred, he slew them, and had a
name among the three.
13-18:12††† Moreover Abishai the son of Zeruiah slew of the Edomites in the
valley of salt eighteen thousand.
13-19:11††† And the rest of the people he delivered unto the hand
of Abishai his brother, and they set themselves
in array against the children of Ammon.
13-19:15††† And when the children of Ammon saw that the Syrians
were fled, they likewise fled before Abishai his brother, and entered into the city. Then
Joab came to Jerusalem.
11-15:2†††† Three years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his motherís
name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.
11-15:10††† And forty and one years reigned he in Jerusalem. And
his motherís name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.
13-6:4††††† Eleazar begat Phinehas, Phinehas begat Abishua,
13-6:5††††† And Abishua begat Bukki, and Bukki begat Uzzi,
13-6:50†††† And these are the sons of Aaron; Eleazar his
son, Phinehas his son, Abishua his
13-8:4††††† And Abishua, and Naaman, and Ahoah,
15-7:5††††† The son of Abishua, the son of Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the
son of Aaron the chief priest:
13-2:28†††† And the sons of Onam were, Shammai, and Jada. And the
sons of Shammai; Nadab, and Abishur.
13-2:29†††† And the name of the wife of Abishur was Abihail, and she bare him Ahban, and
10-3:4††††† And the fourth, Adonijah the son of Haggith; and the
fifth, Shephatiah the son of Abital;
13-3:3††††† The fifth, Shephatiah of Abital: the sixth, Ithream by Eglah his wife.
13-8:11†††† And of Hushim he begat Abitub, and Elpaal.
40-1:13†††† And Zorobabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor;
19-35:15††† But in mine adversity they rejoiced, and gathered
themselves together: yea, the abjects
gathered themselves together against me, and I knew it not; they did
tear me, and ceased not:
